Why does my dh hover over ss while he is here!!!! UGH~~~

The whole time my ss10 is here my dh hovers over him! WTH? He acts like everything this kid does is pure gold even if it is completely stupid like laying on his back and kicking his feet like a baby! Anyone else get annoyed by this!?! Oh and when my ss gets in trouble my dh ASKS him if that's ok....or when he says NO to something he says well how about this instead....is that ok son? WTF?!!!!

How often does he see is SS? He doesn't see him daily. I think that has a lot to do with it. Instead of fawning over SS I think DH should carve out one-on-one time with SS. When it comes time to get SS and bring him home, let DH take SS alone. Have DH also find something he and SS can bond over and do together.
He needs to stop with asking SS if its ok when he hands out a consequence.

Not very often at all so I can understand that he wants to spend time with him but the hovering drives me crazy. My dh wants to constantly entertain this kid so he's not "bored" or "upset". My ss is constantly trying to get our bd1 in trouble by saying.....dad she's pulling my hair or dad she won't leave me alone when he goes and sits down right beside her! My bd is just a baby!!!!!!! I don't get how these kids get away with EVERYTHING just because their parents are split up! My ss was only 1 or so when my dh and bm split so he doesn't even remember them being together....but this kid will come up with some stories of remember when daddy.....and all that crap!

Yes, same here. When the skids visit,DH follows them around like he is their butler. Do you want to watch a movie? Do you want popcorn? Can I get you anything? While our biokids are expected to be quiet and not interupt while he is on his laptop and he is always on his laptop.

hmmm... it's the opposite in my house... my SS12 is crammed so far up DH's ass when he visits that we have to call in the jaws of life to get him out before he goes home to BM. He actually drives DH nuts sometimes because he is so ridiculous about it. Last weekend DH said to me, I'm going to run down to the store to get ice (the store is literally 3 minutes away) SS pipes up... "Can I go???!" DH was like, "dude, I'm just running down to the store to get ice, I'll be back in 5 minutes"

HAHA! Actually it's like that here too! Even though he acts like his dad is his stepdad even to dh. He'll say my dad says this or my "dad" says that! UGH! HA it's like we are just babysitting..... My ss does that too....for ex. he'll hug my dh and literally try to get my dh to hold him.....ok first of all this kid is like 5'3 or so and weighs at least 150 pounds! Goofy stuff like that! He'll always say things like.....that's "my" daddy or you're ALL my daddy when our bd1 is around especially! Drives me insane.......
