Get DH to join al anon so that an independent 3rd party can do the persuading for you. He will never sit up and listen unless it's a third party in my experience.

I agree with the others. If you DH doesn't want to go to a meeting, find a friend who does go to AA or NA meetings. It's amazingly common and I bet between the two of you, you know a recovering addict. Talk to that person. Most people active in those organizations are generous with information and time. It's part of their own recovery.

Go to Amazon.com and look for books on enabling. Give it to him.
