SD8 back to school and accidents

SD8 will be starting back to school soon but still wets her pants at least 2-3 times a week. I am worried about how school will handle this. I am NOT looking forward to having to go up to the school to deal with this problem all the time! Is there anyone else here that has had to deal with the school and "accidents"? It's hard enough dealing with it at home but dealing with this problem at school is going to drive me more crazy. How does everyone else here handle this issue?? I have tried everything I can think of to get her to stop but nothing has worked. It goes in 1 ear and out the other with her and I am SOO sick of having to clean up after her and take care of her laundry. We are 100% positive that it is nothing medical, its pure laziness on her part. HELP!!

My DD8 has this problem. I thought at first that it was just her not wanting to interupt her play time to go to the bathroom. She didn't really have a problem at school until the end of the last school year. At home she would go play, swear to me and DH that she had used the bathroom only for me to smell her when it was dinner time. I had to hold her dinner and bathe her causing DH and DS to wait to eat (they did that on their own, they want to eat as a family). Then it became poop and pee in her pants. Then it began at school. I wanted to pull my hair out! I tried spanking, yelling, bribes, reasoning, punishment, guilt, pity. Nothing worked. My ex and I took her to the doctor and come to find out, this isn't uncommon in little girls. Up until the age of 10-12 some little girls do not get the sensation to pee all the time. The urologist gave us a powder that we have to mix into water once a day for her to drink to help with the poo. We also got a note that states while in school she is to be allowed a five minute bathroom break every two hours. She has to sit on the toilet with her legs wide open for a minimum of three minutes to make sure it comes out. We took her to the doctor in March and after two weeks of following their instructions I am happy to report only two accidents since then! Now I am feeling guilty that I didn't do it sooner! It isn't always something they can control and I learned that the hard way and my DD suffered for it. I urge you to take your SD to the doctor just to be sure.

And always pack one or two pairs of clothes in her bookbag with a plastic bag for the soiled clothing. On meet the teacher night explain in private to the teacher that your SD has some issues and that you are working on it but there will be clothes at school just in case.

Don't waste money on pull ups.

Inform the teacher of the problem. Let her keep a change of clothes in the classroom. Her classmates will handle the rest.

Looking at all the comments here I think the best course of action is to rule out any medical reason. If there is no medical reason then I agree that her classmates will take care of it and she will be the "playground pinata"....love that saying!
