Open House at School last night ~ ughhhh
SO, first let me say BM DID NOT get the job she stated she had gotten... her DMV record was not clean enough to add her to their insurance (so she says... which is believable since she has speeding tickets and an accident in one year) but I personally think she may have failed the drug test. SO, she has been doing some side work for some guy to earn cash... the job is an hour away, and she has worked 2 days in the past week. Tough life.
SO, I get a text from her on Wednesday night:
BM:"you guys going to Open House?" (we had the kids)
ME:"probably, we always do"
BM:"COOL"
That was the extent of the conversation... she had also told me earlier in the day that she was working on Thursday out of town so I figured she would not be home in time to go... it was from 6-7.
So, 6 oclock rolls around... we go to oldest BD's class, then SS class, then youngest BD's class. We were headed out when BM texts FH. It is now 645
BM:"did you go to SS class?"
FH:yes
BM:"Thanks for letting me be a part of it, I wanted to see his class room too, r u here?"
So we walk BACK over to the kindergarden classrooms and start looking for her so SS can show his mom his classroom. SHE WAS NOT EVEN THERE YET. She shows up 10 minutes before 7 crying... all in hysterics about us "leaving her out". FH said "DUDE, you have to call and tell us you are coming... we had no idea, you talked to DISbelief yesterday, why didn't you tell her you were coming?"
She was causing a scene in the middle of the quad so FH said "SS hug your mom, we need to go get dinner, BM go talk to his teacher... SS doesn't need to see you acting like this".
WTF??? Why didn't she at least tell me she was going to TRY to make it so we would know to wait?? Is she seriously THAT stupid? I just don't get it, always the victim... ALWAYS. It is not our fault she was SO late... didn't communicate that she was on her way NOTHING. I don't read effing minds here lady!!
That's my vent for the day.
Communication...
"WTF??? Why didn't she at least tell me she was going to TRY to make it so we would know to wait?? Is she seriously THAT stupid?"
Had she communicated effectively the whole thing could have been avoided.....I am always amazed at how many of the frustrations in blended families (for and from all parties) boils down to lack of communication. Heck even if she would have texted "see you there" rather than "cool"....the situation could have ended up very differently.
"The beauty of life is, while we cannot undo what is done, we can see it, understand it, learn from it and change, So that every new moment is spent not in regret, guilt, fear or anger, but in wisdom, understanding, and love." -Jennifer Edwards
Exactly!
I think she was unsure if she was going to make it back to town in time... I am not sure why she freaked out like that though. It was bizarre, but typical for her.

I think
she must have been in a "purple haze" if you get my drift.
Funny you say that....
The "job" she was at that made her so late, was helping paint the inside of a house. So the next day when I saw her at the school I asked her if she was "okay now"? She said "yeah I'm fine"... as if nothing happened... so ME being ME asked her if she inhaled too many paint fumes yesterday... she just looked at me like I was crazy. HAHA. But you are right, it is possible she was ACTUALLY high. Who knows... it was just uncalled for.
