My 17 year old daughter is now interested in a 19 year old guy with a kid! After she watched what I went through with bm and skids, she thinks this guy will be different. She keeps saying how cute the little boy is.....not the point! I am so disappointed. I cannot be supportive of this relationship! Advice? Am I overreacting? I hate this. I don't want this for my beautiful daughter! She will never be #1 with any guy who has a kid.

Actually, maybe she will experience this early and then realize how not cute skids can really be. But make sure she's on the pill.

Remind her that if she get serious with him the BM gets to interfere in her life FOREVER. Where they can live, what schedule they go by, the crazy phone calls, nasty names... share some of the horror stories here. Maybe having her visit here now might save her a lot of heartache later.

I am with Anne Boleyn, make sure she is on the pill or some other contraceptive medication/device.

Yes, she is on birth control. I'm trying not to make too much out of this, but she had plans to go to film school and pursue a career as an indie film director. She is very smart & talented, and I don't want that going down the toilet over some guy, his ex, and their brat!
