OMG! I just saw an awesome mom parent her kid!
I just just sat down for dinner after a very hectic travel day. It is a very busy steak house In OKC.
From across the dining room I hear a kid go off. A matter of seconds later a young mom is firmly leading her protesting 3-4yo little boy by the hand to the front door while he screams "I don't want to go outside for a talk!"
My table is by the door. She squats down to his level, swats him on the rump once.... firmly .... then pokes him in the chest to highlight the points she is communicating, there is talking and nodding between them, they hug, she takes his hand and they walk calmly back into theyrestaurant. The little boy was bopping along happily holding his mom's hand.
Immediate, direct, firm, effective. I think I have a young mom crush developing for this young woman. What a great job she did.
I think I will ask the server to bring me the bill from their table.
That's so nice to see. One if
That's so nice to see. One if my friends is a great mom, no BS. She gives me feedback and I can ask her about stuff too. If I had kids, she parents like I'd parent.
You know she'd appreciate your paying too.
