Mother's Day is Sunday and I was just wondering how you all handle such a day? While my daughter was growing up and doing the Visitation Shuffle, no matter whose weekend it was, it was a given that she would spend Mother's/Father's Day with the appropriate parent.

Before I comment further on the current situation with my fiance's kids, I'll be interested in hearing about how this "holiday" is handled by other families.

SD gave me some home made cards last night for mothers day which was sweet. BM lives around the world and unless the children specifically want and ask to send BM something (a card) then I don't. She doesn't do a thing for them for birthdays etc. My husband will go out and buy something for me but really I don't care.

BTW I just received an ecard from my ex husbands ex wife whom I known and became friends with 25 years ago. She was wishing me a happy mothers day and thanking me for being such a great SMOM to her daughter while she was growing up. I found it to be awesome.
