I'm marrying my FH in about 1 year, and he has a daughter age 7 (almost 8). as of now we have a good relationship, and i've made sure she knows that she is a priority in my life just like her father. i also have a decent working relationship with her BM, i figure i have to so that things will be easier as she grows older. any advice as to how to transition those good relationships so they stay similar after the marriage? i was a stepkid myself and i know i wasn't a great one, but i try and draw from that as an adult to remember what it was like for me to imagine what it may be like for her. just want the transition be well for everyone involved as she is a special child and i'm grateful to be involved in her life as much as i am.
