growing up to fast
Well this makes me sick. BM is a total idiot. She sees SD8 EOW (if that, usually its less than that), she rarely calls SD on the phone, so basically plays a very small role in her life. Ok, so last weekend SD went for 1 day, BM buys her a bra!!!!!!!! SHe is eight. Now she wants to wear it all the time and we have to buy more. Lovely. She is a very tiny girl and probably wont develop for years. Next Bm buys her clothes that are (in my book) a little to mature for an eight year old. SHort skirts, heals. Also for some reason Sd has a fasination with getting her nails done, make up, and hair color. WTF!!
I told DH that if this continues and we allow these luxuries now, it will only get worse. He also is not much help. This year he bought her a lap top, digital camera and a cell phone. All of which she barely uses or can even take care of. I find these items laying around the house usually.
Maybe i should let her continue to leave things like that laying around and my pups will have at them.
As for the clothes, makeup and other things, I just think its too early for all this. What do you think?
too early
MY BD13 wants her nails done..and I think she is too young. Her aunt will bring her and they fall off..I refuse to get them filled. Her aunt does get them VERY short out of respect for me..but personally I think she is too young for them at all.
I still don't let my BD wear heels unless it's to church. When she leaves the house I have to see her outfit first to see how revealing it is..luckily she is kind of tomboyish..she doesn't wear skirts..but she does wear a 34c already at 13..so I have to make sure she doesn't have "cleavage" at her age.

I agree...too early
I think that 8 is to old to be exposed to a bra especially when they haven't developed. Also, she seems to be getting a lot of luxuries, and needs to be taught the concept of earning something, not that a cell phone is going to drop in her lap if she wants it. Anyway...my SD9 is into doing stuff she isn't supposed to do...mainly the whole getting her nails painted with really bright and promiscuious colors. She is also into tighter pants, and big earrings...all are unacceptable. So, we find that when she goes on vacations to her moms that she does exactly what she wants....crazy. They are growing up way to fast.
big earrings
oh yea..that is another thing..she wanted to wear those big hoop earrings.. NOPE! One good thing is that her BD and I agree...he is even stricter than me with some stuff. I have girlfriend that got her daughter's belly button pierced at 14..honestly, i think that's too young.
"He grew up in my heart, not my belly"
its amazing...
men do act as though they dont' want their daughters to have anything that makes them look like they are turning into bigger girls. I do have to fight for SD9 on a couple of things...on when it is appropriate to wear nail polish - if it were up to DH it would be at 18 or never!...LOL...
It's true
My daughter's pediatrician told me that children are developing much earlier because of all the hormones in the foods nowadays (my daughter hit puberty at 11.5)..
She said even whole milk has hormones and told me to start buying 2%.

This is my sd in a nutshell
Sadly, she is 14 going on 21.
that's what I say
all the time when people ask how old my BD is..I say 13 going on 21 and reverting back to 5 at times.

My advice is that the 'Bra"
is something BM brought so it stays at BM's and post it back.
I agree with Zimka
At our house, everything BM buys is supposed to stay at her house and visa versa.
I do agree that 8 is too early to be wearing make up and grown up clothes so to speak. Although at that age I'm sure I wanted to do exactly the same thing as your SD but my mother wouldn't allow it.
It actually reminds me of the time when my dad was overseas and it was Christmas morning and I wouldn't speak to my dad on the phone because I was very upset that Santa Claws didn't bring me any nail polish for Christmas. Well my dad bought back a presant for me and it was the most beautiful doll I had seen in my life and to this day I still have it and still love it. The minute I laid eyes on her I never thought about the nail polish again, until now.
WAY WAY WAY TOO YOUNG!!!
OMG!! Screw that, no way would that bra be coming to my house. Or the makeup, or heels, or short skirts! Is she trying to turn her into a mini BM or what? She's in what, 3RD GRADE? My God. This is going to get waaaaay worse if you allow this now. Girls are hard enough, do not add to your headache. BM is doing this because SHE'S not the one that has to deal with the ramifications of it. No way. Throw it out. If she doesn't like that, then she needs to stop sending this crap to your house.
