Finally going to court
I know most people would be upset about this but we finally are going to court. FDH filed for 50/50 and a couple days before (we didn't know this) BM filed for child support. Everything will finally be court ordered and less we have to deal with her! We don't even care if we have to pay her a little bit more but it will stop most of the bs she puts him through.
We are in the process of hiring an attorney and are wishing and hoping things go our way but we are realistic to what may happen.
I feel relieved to finally be almost done with this crap with her and hopefully have my SD 50% of the time. Not because I so desperately need another child in my home because I don't but BM should by law have to have her tubes tied she's unfit to be a parent and SD needs some stability.
I know how you feel. We
I know how you feel. We fought BM tooth and nail in order for SD5 to spend ample time with SO without interference from BM. It is much easier now that SO has everything in a CO, including the amount he pays BM in child support (considering he is now paying her less then what he was paying without the order). It may be stressful for a while, but relief is at hand.
I'm sure you have done your
I'm sure you have done your research, but if you haven't yet, google "shared parenting plans in (your) state" and start making a list of things that you want to have included in yours. I found a lot of things that didn't pertain to the kids now but would as they got older that I hadn't even thought of.
I have done my research and
I have done my research and unfortunately I disagree with 50/50 custody because I think it's bad for the child to not have 1 home however I do know research supports it's good for them, etc I just wouldn't want it for my kids. That is good advice though. We already have a list of stipulations and whatnot that we are hoping are granted. He really wants 50/50 though so for his sake I hope we get it and in the same breath I hope my ex husband never files for it! Lol
Thank you! This is great
Thank you! This is great info! What is first right of refusal? We saw that in some of the paperwork but I wasn't sure what it was.
too bad BM's all too often
too bad BM's all too often pick and choose what they want to follow in parenting plans and get away with it!
I know our drama isgoing to
I know our drama isgoing to be much worse but we are hoping to add some rules to the CO when the time comes. I have a no contact against her and she's very VERY high conflict so hopefully the court can intervene and set her straight a bit. Thanks to this forum I've researched our family wizard and am hoping a judge will approve only use of that from court date on. We shall see. I'm normal with my ex and his fiance! I've never met her, don't care to, stay out of their business, encourage my kids to have a relationship with both of them. Do I like her? No, she has a very poor criminal record but guess what? I can't do anything so I'm a mature adult. Too bad all BM's cant get the same memo!!
