Feel a LOT better about the attorney this morning!
So DH had a LONG talk with his attorney yesterday about the delays and time lags he's been experiencing the last few weeks (stemmed from her taking 4 weeks to draft a letter she recommend he send).
Come to find out, she was in a pretty serious car accident last month and has been on a reduced schedule because of a concussion and recurring dizziness. Other attorneys & paralegals in her office have been trying to help her out, but she's only recently gotten to a point of really catching up.
While it kind of pissed me off that she couldn't just tell DH that at the time, I understand too.
So I guess this buys her a temporary pass to see how she improves her responsiveness in the future. I knew something was weird because she was never that bad in the past. I'm relieved that she's okay and back to work, but still a little peeved that she didn't extend the courtesy of letting DH know about her reduced schedule (even if she didn't disclose the accident).
That being said, she is now up to date on everything. The letter in question has gone out in the mail, and she thinks we have a SOLID case for at least two contempt charges on BM.
I'm hesitantly optimistic, but glad she's at least back in the game with us
That's good news! Not that
That's good news!
Not that the attorney was hurt, but that she's back to work and has sent out the letter.
At least it sounds like a temporary thing and now you don't have to agonize about changing attorneys.
