Does anyone here have experience with an out of state custody change?

If so, what was the experience?

I guess im just worrying over everything with the custody battle finally going forward again. Our lawyer didnt seem concerned with the fact that we live out of state, but its still something that stresses me out. My DH is fighting over custody of my 2 skids

We went through that back in 94 and 95. We had the kids with us in 93, but thought the BM would work with us on paying the child support, since she agreed that the kids could live with us. We married in 92 and had kids within a few months. She said she'd refund the money we pd her thru CSE but she didnt. That forced our hand to go to court since we had to pay or my husband had to go to jail. We pd her every month while we had the kids. It took 15mos to get it settled and within 30 days the 16 yr old son moved back in with her bec she promised him a van to drive. We lived in Tulsa, she lived in MO. We had moved to Tulsa to go to school, but we got custody across the state lines. We had to go to court in MO though, and that's where our atty was from. It cost a lot of money, and we ended up quitting school and moving back to try to recover. Good luck!
