Adoption
Has anyone here ever adopted a child. We decided last year that we wanted to adopt and we have gone through SOO much red tape it isnt even funny. It's been over a year since we took the classes, got a background check, got our physical and got fingerprinted and I cant beleive how hard it is to adopt a child!!! The adoption place we are going through are SOO under-staffed that we can never talk to our social worker. We finally got approved by the state 3 months ago after going through hell getting our water tested. We have had our eye on a girl we would like to adopt and put in the request to meet her as soon as we got approved and we STILL havent heard back from anyone! We dont know alot about the girl other then she was severly neglected and at 8 years old, she is ONLY 26 lbs! Has anyone else had this much of a problem trying to adopt a child that needs a loving family?? OMG!

It's only been a year? Yes,
It's only been a year? Yes, adoptions are a long process. I have never adopted but have many close friends that have. Stick with it and keep trying to contact your case worker so they know you are still interested. Remember they have paperwork and things to tie up on their end plus they are handling many cases at one time. Are you going thru the state or a private agency?
My best friend and his wife
My best friend and his wife went through the whole adoption nightmare. They finally were approved by the state and went on a multiple year waiting list. Eventually they adopted his wife's deadbeat sister's third out of wedlock baby right from the hospital.
The sad thing is when they were getting the paperwork finalized to adopt their niece the state called with a baby that they could adopt immediately. When they told the state they would take the baby and told them they were also closing on the adoption of their new born niece ... the state disqualified them from adopting the state supplied baby.
They have a 6 figure household income and would have had no problem raising both babies at the same time.
Got to love the morons that the states hire to care for kids.
DipShits!
Good luck.
Its sad that you know of
Its sad that you know of children you want and that they need you and you can't be together. The state is a lot like some BMs. They think they know so much more than everyone else about what is good for a child.
