Jovial...
is my word for today. Just trying to expand my vocabulary.... 
I am actually pretty happy today.
Why not be?
DH and I got pre-approved for a loan for a new home. I was very much stressing about DH's poor credit history. The details are quite boring but essentially DH took on all the marital debt from his divorce (in lieu of alimony) and I ended up fixing the majority of it on a "settlement" basis. You know pay half the balance to settle the debt. Blah, Blah, Blah....like I said, boring.
Anyways, I was fearful that it would take some more repairing...but because of my impeccable credit history, they aren't requiring any further attention to his less than perfect credit.
Yeah.
BM is moving into a rental and has decided NOT to continue with any further requests to rent my current home. So all that is left is to sell it. Then we can finally move into a home that actually fits us all. All kids can have their own space (except the youngest girls have to share a room)....
BM pissed DH off yesterday with her unwillingness to take the girls to any of their games on Saturday because she's moving. I told DH I would just do it, no big deal - I haven't gotten to see any of their games this season and BM will have them on Sunday (Mother's Day) so I would love to help out. DH had a few choice words about BM and they are currently not BFFs. Which makes me happy too. I know...I know...not the best attitude to have...oh well.
I just wanted to share that this stepparent, for once, has not a thing to vent about.

As a Realtor, I can truly appreciate all the blah blah blah work you did to be able buy a better home. I am soooooo happy for you guys. Glad you are having a no need to vent day. Those are always good and I am glad things are on track for you. Ejoy your mom's day sweetie!

We're still digging out. We paid off his with my equity when we sold my house. Mine was less and better interest rates. His was a mess.
But we both are unfortunately bad about keeping within our budget. Maybe you should start a financial recovery for blended families book!!!!!

How about a chapter for men who are about to negotiate their divorce settlement with the following advice - Don't give your ex wife everything you have AND still agree to take over all the marital debt. It will take you years to recover financially and your ex will still make you feel guilty to get more out of you.
