Junior Prom
My daughter has her first prom this Saturday. She is a junior in high school and is very excited about going to her prom. My boyfriend's daughter is also going to the prom (her boyfriend is a junior). My boyfriend received a phone call from his daughter telling him that everyone was going to be at her mom's house at 6:00 p.m. and if he came fine and if he didn't fine. He is upset at the way she presented her "invitation". First of all, he is having vision problems and can't see very clearly; second, I will be getting my daughter ready and cannot leave to bring him over to his ex-wife's house. He tells me he isn't sure he wants to go over, but I told him that was entirely up to him, but I didn't like his daughter's attitude. I also told him he would have to take the car because I wasn't leaving while trying to get my daughter ready. His daughter has been to several formal functions (proms, homecomings, etc.) and has always stopped by her father's before going. Why is this prom any different. I am sure it has something to do with her always trying to bring her parents together (they haven't been together in 11 years). Oh well, I'm trying to focus on the positive and make my daughter's first prom special.

Just make your daughters prom special
Your husband, his ex and everybody else who have children of their own should understand. This is important to your daughter, and so it's important to you as well. If your husband feels comfortable enough in going, maybe he can make arrangements to go over without you seeing that it doesn't sound like she's going to stop by.
