Need help of lawyers

Hey

My hubby was working as an accountant in a reputed firm. Last month, he was called by the chief financial officer and was given some important files. Those files were very confidential.

Unfortunately, the files got missed. My hubby didn't have any idea of this. He said it was a deliberate attempt by some of his colleagues to defame him. He reported it to the CFO but they didn't believe his innocence.

In fact, these files were important for the existence of the firm. But the higher officials have lost the trust in him and they believe, he had used it for his benefits and passed the secret information to a competitor firm.

Now, they are planning to charge a case against him. He is very innocent. He has been depressed for the last few days. And I feel so pathetic. How to get out of this mess and prove his sincere nature?

Shall we contact some criminal defence lawyers in Mississauga ( http://www.defencegroup.ca/service-areas/mississauga-criminal-lawyers/ )? Is it can be helpful? We don't have any idea in the legal matters. Expecting your replies.

Thank you.

If you need doctoring, you see a doctor. If you need legal help, see a lawyer. Never underestimate how ugly or messy any legal situation, sometimes as simple as a traffic ticket, can get.

You wouldn't try to patch up your own broken leg, so don't go into this thinking you can handle your own legal mess. And, no, I'm not a lawyer, but I've been there, done that. They may be pricey, but just like you can't put a price on health, you can't put a price on staying out of the pokey. One word of advice, tho., you may need to shop around for the best or right lawyer. Don't just assume the first one you go to is the best one for you.

get legal help... and if DH did not use the information to his advantage then there's nothing to worry about, they will have to proof he used it, he lost it and reported it as such.

Step parents aren’t experts on corporate espionage. You might want to seek help elsewhere. Good luck. Hope it all works out.

The type of lawyer you need really depends on the type of case they are building against your DH. It sounds like white collar crime, so you would want to seek out a lawyer who handles that type of work. They might also be building a civil case against him, which would be different than a criminal case.

In a civil case, they could sue for damages, but it wouldn't result in a criminal conviction. I don't know all the ins and outs. The burden of proof is often lower in a civil case. It really depends on the circumstances.

agree with strugglingsm on this. go to a specialist on corporate law. criminal defense may not be the issue here as your dh was not charged by a city or provincial authority.

interview several attorneys and see which ones work with defendants only and not for corporations.

good luck.
