We for sure never catered to my Skid's Sperm Idiot and Sperm Clan. However, I did commit to he and his mom when she and I first married that I would never deny him a relationship with his Sperm Idiot or his Sperm Clan. I never did. On a few occasions during our 17+ year Custody/Visitation/Support CO when they had refused a couple of visitations in a row due to not being able to afford their half of visitation travel air fare we paid for their half. Not because we particularly wanted the Skid to see them, but because we did not want him to get the impression that they did not give a shit enough to step up and do what they should do.

In hind sight we should have filed for termination of parental rights for child abandonment rather than paid out of pocket to facilitate exposing the kid to their toxic bullshit any more than necessary.

I once made the statement that I was turned off by men that are spineless/manipulated patsy's. Yes, but I have learnt which hills are the ones I want to die on and then I have to make sure I am the bigger bitch about that issue so that he knows it is important to me and that life at home will be very uncomfortable if he tries to appease BM and that maybe a little bit of push back from BM is better than a bitch for a wife to live with. On some issues though, I just express my view and let it go as it isn't worth the fight.

I once dated a guy who would do annoying things "because of the kidddddzzzzzz!!!!" but then not do important things. Like, he would try to control everything and go out of his way for the kids, putting everyone beneath them. But then he would risk his custody battle by drinking and driving.
