So with all of the shit hitting the fan regarding SS17 smoking pot and losing his car yada yada yada...my daughter has been quite engaged and attentive to the goings on. SHe's been watching it all unfold and I am so happy about that.

She was at a party yesterday. SHe came home early. I asked why. SHe said, "they had pot and I didn't want any part of that so me and a bunch of other people just left". I congratulated her on making a really great choice and I asked her, out of curiosity, why THAT was her choice. SHe said, "I'm not doing that. If we got caught, I'd lose my license for at least 6 months and worse than that...You'd kill me."

The fear of consequences is why my kids are on a better path than my skids who have never had any consequences. I refer often "The Lord of the Flies" when talking about kids w/ no boundaries. My BD has to read that over the summer for her senior year of English. She's going to finally get my reference.

I just felt the need to post something positive for a change. Bitching about my skids wears me out.
