DOES THE SYSTEM REALLY WORK LIKE THAT

OK OK OK OK,,,,,,,I PAY CHILD SUPPORT FOR TWO CHILDREN MY YOUNGEST SON I JUST WENT TO COURT FOR...SO I'M OBLIGATED TO PAY FOR HIS SUPPORT....WITCH IS OK. HES 16..AND BY THE WAY THE MOTHER DIDN'T SHOW!...SO WEEKS GO BUY I FIND OUT SHE IS COURT ORDERED TO LIVE IN ANOTHER STATE FOR HER YOUNGEST CHILDREN WITCH IS IN LAS VEGAS...OK OK OK...MY SON ENDS UP STAYING HERE IN MINNESOTA WITH THE GRANDMA AND GOING TO SCHOOL..BEEN GOING ON FOR LIKE 7 MONTHS ..I CALLED MY CASE WORKERS MULTIPLE TIMES EXPLAINING THAT THIS IT RIGHT...SHE HAS TO HAVE MY KID IN CUSTODY FOR HERE TO RECEIVE SUPPORT... AND THEY TOLD ME THERE IS NOTHING I CAN DO AND I HAVE TO PAY AND I MAY HAVE TO OPEN UP A CASE WITH THE GRANDMA FOR REDIRECTING CUSTODY....I FELL LIKE I LOST ALL RIGHTS HOW..THIS CASE WAS BETWEEN ME AND MY CHILD MOTHER....I DON'T UNDERSTAND...HOW DOES THE GRANDMA EVEN HAVE ANY SAY!....I WORK HARD 40 HOURS A WEEK AND I'M A GOOD MAN I MAKE OK MONEY...DO I GET A LAWYER AND FIGHT FOR CUSTODY AND THE 7 MONTHS I BEEN PAYING GONNA BE REPAID...I CAN GET PAPERWORK ON THOSE FACTS.....IM SO LOST I CANT EVEN CALL MY CASE WORKER....CAUSE IT SEEMS AS LONG AS THERE GETTING PAID...PUSH ME AWAY AND AGREE WITH THEM...I FELL LIKE I HAVE BEEN TAKING ADVANTAGE OF BY THE SYSTEM.....

Yes the system works this way. Yes the system is broken. Yes you should try to get custody, though there is no guarantee you will win. And even if you do, no CS is never going to be repaid, regardless of your circumstances before the change in custody. Doesn't work that way. Get a lawyer, go to court and realize that yes, your case worker doesn't care. CS is being collected, that is what your case worker cares about.

How can the mother give custody away without your permission? Why can't you go pick up your child? Yes you need to consult an attorney...like yesterday. Why did you let 7 months go by?

This is my question. Do you and the mother not have a court order in place? I would imagine there has to be for their to be support being paid. If you are on the order, then you can just go take him.
