NOT. SD is here today and I find myself in a bitchy mood yet again. I hate it. And no matter what I try to do to change my attitude about her being around. When he mentions her it pisses me off. And I just hate when she is here!! Ugh. I'm in such a crappy mood. Ok I think I'm done venting.

I'm sorry! That sucks ass. Try and find something constructive or relaxing to do to keep away from her. Read a book? Take a nap? Go for a walk or drive? Take up an aerobics class? Or go visit a friend for a glass of wine and a talk?

I wish there was a way for her to not come around anymore. As much anyways. It's pointless and like she isn't even there anyways. She won't tlk and just stands around mute listens to conversations and gives looks.

Every Thursday I dread Friday, we have no friggin schedule. SO thinks flexibility is key. So basically I dread the weekend all week long, and sometimes I find out the skids are coming, and sometimes they are not, I can never be totally sure though. I can never relax and be sure I have a skid free weekend, unless I leave the friggin country - lol, which I have done twice now in the last 6 months - lolol.

CN- how do you do that? I would lose my mind. I have tried to explain that for me, no plans is still considered a plan.

DH used to say- 'oh hey- we have no plans, right? SD will come over.' :?

There were a few EOW's in a row where she also ditched us and we had RSVP'd no to some social occasions based on the fact it was a skid weekend. This left us missing parties, a few birthdays etc.. and I got very passive aggressive.

Then of course the social occasions that we had her and were child friendly.... good lord...I was so embarrassed for her to be around my friends...

I HATE SKID WEEKENDS

We don't have a schedule anymore and it used to drive me nuts. That is, until DH has started to see how SD is acting and is getting the craps of it. Now, we just make our plans like we would if she weren't here, and if she wants to come over (which is always LAST MINUTE) we say oh no, sorry, we have plans (even if they include just hanging out around the house with NO KIDS), should have asked us sooner. I love it now }:)

Longtime reader first time poster...But I am thinking you should feel lucky! I don't have to dread SD14 coming over! She is there everyday with no break ever! Thanks DBBM! Yay everyday!!! Can't I get a weekend off?

LOL Tricked. I've been dying to say that for a while now. I have SS16 every single day. He can't even go to his BM because she's crazy & huge legal issues, etc. So we have him until he turns 18 (yay) but on that day, ready or not, his bags will be packed, an envelope with a down payment on his first apartment share & don't call us, we'll call you.

OCS - I do lose my mind. But he won't change. He doesn't realise "flexibility" just means BM is calling the shots. I have had my own wins lately though, SO has had weekend shifts, and BM has phoned on Thursday night saying come and pick up the skids tomorrow night, and he said - No, can't, working, See ya. I love that. She just assumes my house is available when fuckin ever. And he likes seeing his kids so he usually agrees. I love this weekend work he has been getting a bit of lately. I like being at home with just my kids.

I used to wish BM would get hit by a bus, because I thought it would be easier having the skids fulltime and getting them into a routine without the constant PAS and BM drama. That was insane of me, I know that now.

I am new to this forum and half a foot into this hell ... why do you hate the skid and/or dread the visit? I am trying to learn as much as possible before my life becomes one big fuckfest.

Miscellaneous - I think you should start a new thread and you'd get plenty of replies.

Wine!!! Every skid arrival day, I make sure to have lots of wine on hand. I was never a drinker before, but it really helps!

I also volunteer to work late if it's needed.

Or I visit my sister. Or go to the library. Or shop. Anything!
