I am married for six years. When me and hubby started dating, the children were 17, 14 and 8. There mother left my hubby to built a better life for herself. She's is a big liar. Manupilater ect. The relationship was always great! But suddenly this year everything is falling apart. Stepson now 22 and daugher 16 suddenly hates me! My SD ignores me. She told her hole family how bad i am? How she cant stand me and that me and hubby have a bad marriage? She has a relationship with her mother. A week ago she send my hubby and sms telling him how bad i am. Really i dont understand. Where did everything went wrong?? And what must i do? And we did speak to the children. That didn't helped

Unfortunately the garbage with the kids sounds normal to me too since my SD is a real prize. As for DH I don't know what to say other than I'm sorry and I hope things work out. My DH and I have had rough spots too. He barely spoke to me for a month when I told SD that she was a spoiled brat. He had a hard time because princess would call incessantly to complain about me. Things got better and now he sees the brat for what she is. I hope things get better

This seems all too familiar. I wonder if there is more to this than just sm/sd clash since this happens to so many families. Like maybe this is an amped up version of the natural pulling away of kids from parents. Only with Steps it is easier to tell them to phuck off than it is with blood in a kid's mind.
