OT: SO Has a Great Wedding Idea

SO and I went to look at a venue yesterday and it was horrible. It was so dirty and not well maintained. But on the way home SO came up with the idea of just the two of us going to the Carribean and getting married on the beach. I think it's a great idea and we were planning on going here anyways for our honeymoon.

What do you guys think? Traditional or romantic?

I want to do this. I don't really have a lot of family and SO wants this day to be just about us. I am excited. I'm still going to wear a gown and just go barefoot.

We're going to have our own private villa overlooking the Carribean and it's an all inclusive package. It'll be great. No kids, no work, no reponsibilities. Just the two of us.

DW and I eloped for our real wedding, and were very happy with the results. We later had a "for show" wedding for the family, which was a nightmare because SD17's "perfect" bio-daddy was a complete jerk about trading weekends. Wish we had stuck with eloping.

We got married on the East Coast about 4 hours from our house. Out of the 100 close friends and family members we invited, about half showed up...50 people, about 15 of those were kids.

It was perfect. A perfect combo of eloping and having people there who wanted to be there.
