SK Can't Use Any Form Of Mom

WickednNasty's picture

I'm wondering, if anyone else has a situation simular to mine.

My Sk's can't refer to me using any form of Mom. I totally understand the "Mom", but whats wrong with Stepmom? Techincally thats what I am. Anyone have this written in their so's Decree?

Guess it just goes to show you how insecure the BM in this particular case is.

My SK's can't call anyone any form of Mom or Dad. Refering to me as their Stepmom has never been brought up. That is new for me. It is in th DD that they can't call anyone any form of it as a name. We suspect that my SD is calling her SF - "Dad". If DH could prove it, he would be all over that with his attorney's. He is the one who insisted on the clause at the direction of his lawyer. Pretty common down here in the south. Not sure why. Just find another name that they can use.
Mine just use my first name.

Weird indeed. I think anyone that has that kind of clause..or the ones with the "the parents can't have anyone of the opposite sex spend the night" are control freaks and have some narcissism issues (seeing others as extensions of themselves rather then individuals).

JMO.

My SD7 always calls me Mommy. I think she has since my hubby and I were just dating. SS will start off our visitation calling me by name and then start calling me mama a few days in. Oldest SD never calls me mom or any form of. The younger two actually call BM by her name when they are here. I don't know why, I guess because they hear DH and I say her name. But we barely even mention her and when she is, hubby's name for her is simply "dumbass". Of course the kids never hear THAT one though.
