Therapy
Ok, I have finally had enough of the crap that BM puts my SD through. The poor thing cried her heart out to me last night about the things her Mum says and does. Making her listen to her bagging us out, using language that should never be heard by a 9yo! Witnessing her BM'S bf hit her and throw things at her!
I just do not understad how her BM thinks all of these things are ok. And how she thinks it's ok to say the things she does about us when we r the ones supporting these kids with no financial assistance from her! When is this women going to grow up and realise the damage she is doing? I personally don't give a crap what she thinks of me, but it makes my SD feel guilty for loving me, it even makes her feel guilty for loving her BD!
So me and DH have decided to organise some child therapy because this is really getting out of hand and we just don't know what to say anymore. It's really hard not to just say your Mum is a @#&*%! But then we would be just as bad as her!
Anyone else have a BM like this? Any suggestions please?
Without the girl knowing it
Without the girl knowing it video tape her describing these incidents. Then see your attorney about custody or the end of BM's visitation rights.
Get therapy so you have a 3rd
Get therapy so you have a 3rd party to testify as to the child's mental state. Then take the advice above, talk to attorney about options. Once you have the 3rd party involved, go to CPS and make a complaint. They will try to write it off as some sort of custody battle no doubt, because CPS sucks, but you've got to get a complaint on record. The fact that you guys have primary custody is good, you should have more leverage. You're just going to need to back up the abuse claims with a 3rd party and possible pictures of bruising. They may not believe the skid since she could have been coached.
Thank you for the repies. CPS
Thank you for the repies.
CPS have already been involved so there is a record already which helps. We would love to go back to court to reduce or cease BM'S access, but it just costs so much and we honestly can't afford it. BM is on benefits so she doesn't have to pay for legal counsel, hardly seems fair!
So court may not be an option
