The Pull-up Generation: You
The Pull-up Generation: You can pee yourself & we take care of it. Sums it up.

Yup!!! Me too!!
I can totally relate to that
I can totally relate to that article!! My SD is 7 and STILL has accidents because she wont take the time to go to the bathroom when she has to go. According to BM, she NEVER has issues there which I find very hard to beleive. To me, she is 7 going on 1 or 2 because BM babies her at her house and still lets her drink from a sippy cup at 7!!

This sounds familiar. There's
This sounds familiar. There's different takes on it, too. Did anyone see the book Everything Bad is Good For You? It's all interesting stuff. My favorite was NurtureShock. I look forward to picking this one up as well.
Thanks for the heads up!
I think there was an article
I think there was an article out a while ago called "Raising a Nation of Wimps" or something along those lines. Good read as well, Id Google it.
Nurtureshock looks
Nurtureshock looks interesting!! I'm interested in reading about how sibilings fight (to get closer)...being that the FSD and my BS fight a lot!
Thanks for the recommendation!
As long as the electronics
As long as the electronics keep working kids will be just fine.
I have noticed they're easily irritated when what they want or want to know isn't immediately forthcoming. If the PC takes 4 seconds to load they walk away. The attention span is close to zero.
They have a book out about
They have a book out about that too! It's called Distracted: The Erosian of Attention. It makes you wonder, who are these books for anyway?
I spend way too much time in Borders.
I Had to suggest to my FDH
I Had to suggest to my FDH that he NOT let his kid (8 yo) use his Mac laptop anymore. The kid broke the last Mac laptop, and my FDH needs his working one for work. All the kid wants to do is watch trains on Youtube on it, but if it doesn't load in 3 seconds, he starts banging on the space bar to make it play. And I mean, BANGING! I simply asked my FDH what he would do if this laptop mysteriously stops working and develops a white line across the top from getting Capri Sun squirted on it, and smacked around. He thinks about it, and lst few times FSS8 has been over, no computer use.

I had an 11 year old in my office today whose shoe was untied. His mom tied it for him. To me this says it all.
