My stepkids are always sick!!!
Hi everyone, so this is a ongoing problem in my home. I have a bio son who is 2 years old. And has a speech delay. And 2 stepkids boy 12 and girl 8. Their mother does not care..if they're sick they go to school, my inlaws house and our home. We have the kids in our home every weekend. I have been married to dh for 5 years. And me and the stepkids BM, do not talk to each other. And we cannot stand each other. The stepkids come over and it seems to be every other weekend they are sick. In the past 2 years. I have dealt with head lice, and i have been up all night..combing their hair and cleaning house. They have had bronchitis, colds, stomach virus ,pneumonia, and recently strep throat. Which me and my 2 Year old son have currently. I am so sick of this.my inlaws do not care if they are sick and still let them come over every week.my poor ds cannot talk much yet and has not had a break, in month's. Me and dh have decided, that when they are sick when they are here, that we should quarantine them. And the same when we are sick. ( so it does not get spread back to them) my inlaws think that we are being mean to quarantine them. Me and dh do not think we are at all. Has anyone ever dealt with situations like this? I am at my witts end! I cannot go on like this? The kids have to come to my house on their visitation. Because it cause a war between dh and ex wife. ( she's one of those oh your taking the kids, i have plans) any advice would help please.

In your last blog you
In your last blog you mentioned the skids pend a lot of overnights/days at the in-laws. So there is your solution. If MIL thinks you are mean for quarantining the skids, tell her to come on over and pick them up.
If she thinks she can do a better job at parenting and caring for the skids than their father, let her have at it. Otherwise her 2 cents of what she thinks of Dad's way can be simply kept to herself. Don't let your MIL run your home nor intimidate you.
Thank you, that's what I've
Thank you, that's what I've had in mind.

I don't do the cough into the elbow thing. I drive a bus load of kids, and I teach my students to pull their shirt collar over their mouth and nose and cough I to the inside of their shirt. Lol.
As for being sick, if it is a simple cold, no big deal. If it is fevers or flu that would lies me off.
Definitely do the hand washing thing and use Clorox wipes on doorknobs and light switches, faucets.
And open the Windows. Clean air.

I mentioned that in my post..them staying home was not an option bc there would be a war, between dh and the ex.
Thank you
Thank you
I work for the school system
I work for the school system and they no longer keep kids home for lice in our district either, which is so gross.
As for the rest, I don't shield my kids from normal colds.
I do try to shield my asthmatic son, because he gets deathly ill, but other than that, I don't
I never said anything about
I never said anything about the kids staying with their mom when they we're sick. In fact i stated, they cannot stay home. That was not a option.
