Step parent undermines bio?!?
I'm just wondering if I saw this correctly.
I'm at a friends. Mom tells daughter to pick up her dirty clothes off her floor, put them in hamper and put away clean clothes. Step dad sat there "yeh and wash the walls, and the ceiling" his tone came across very much like he was trying to cause an issue for mom with her DD over her picking up her room.
I could see DD roll her eyes at her mom like OMG can he just shut up. Mom said to step please don't make fun of me having my kids do something's around the house.
I've heard this step dad talk about how the kids don't respect him. I wonder if he would ever be willing to hear that from what I saw, he does it to himself. This girl and her mom have a good bond.

That's from the twilight
That's from the twilight zone, right? A step complaining about skid doing chores?
LOL. It's gotta be.
LOL. It's gotta be.
In my house both DH and I
In my house both DH and I were steps. My kids did/do chores.. His? Nope.
Ew. What a DBag.
Ew. What a DBag.
i don't know how to explain
i don't know how to explain this but to me it sounds like he's trying to be friends with SD, in a bad way. Like he and SD can bond over making fun of Mom? Does that make sense?
He's wanting SD to see him as on her side?
I think everyone needs to
I think everyone needs to relax, I laughed hystically when i read this. He was joking! Why would he realistically expect a 12 y/o to wash walls and ceilings?!?! SD probably rolled her eyes because she knows he is always being silly and butting into their convos. Sounds like something silly I would do.... Hahahaha!
I think you would be familiar
I think you would be familiar with this as your DH tried to do the same thing with your DD. I would advise everyone to watch their H's who try to team up with their skids against the mom.
Yeh. That is why I wondered
Yeh. That is why I wondered if I saw it correctly or if my experience tainted it. It wasn't so much what it said but how. And then when friend said please do not make fun of me asking my kids to do something, he said well does it have tone done right now?!
I did get the impression he was trying to bond with the DD over making fun of mom. NOT cool
Your experience doesn't taint
Your experience doesn't taint it, your experience makes you attuned to things that might slip under others' radars. I think that's a good skill to have. Don't discount your gut when it comes to things like this.
He doesn't care about the
He doesn't care about the child if he more worried about appearing "cool" than helping her learn life's lessons. What a DBAG!
