This is something that isn't really anything to be upset or mad about. I guess it just caught me off guard a little and it has been in my mind ever since, so I thought it might be nice to write it out and then be done with it.

BS9 is in his 3rd year of wrestling. He has wrestled with another kid (G) for the same amount of time. I really like G and his parents/family.

BS and G are the same age/size but not the same weight.

BS is very good at wrestling and does well. G is also very good, better then BS.

BS and G usually pair up to wrestle each other in practice, because they are such good friends.

Yesterday after practice BS was upset and told me in the car that doing break, G's mom told G that he couldnt practice with BS anymore, because G wasnt improving himself by wrestling against BS. That G needed to wrestle against R (coach's son, same weight class as G) because that way he was learning more. That by wrestling with BS, that G was helping BS and not helping himself.

BS caught on that G's mom was saying that G is better then BS at wrestling. Which BS already knows. He is fine with that. But it hurt his feelings.

BS was more upset that he couldnt wrestle with G, because G is his friend.

BS sees wrestling as fun still. After all he is only 9 and I want him to still enjoy wrestling and think its something fun to do, before he gets older and sports become more serious.

I was WAY shocked that G's mom was THIS serious about wrestling. I know what she told G, she didnt think he would go back and tell BS.

I guess I am just caught off guard that she is so serious about it. Kind of takes the fun away from it. We try to look at ourselves as a wrestling "family" and there is a lot of love and support there. I guess her actions, kind of made me think...oooohhhh maybe its a little more serious then I thought.

Like I said this isnt anything serious or big. Just bothered me a little. Not even sure why. Part because BS's feelings were hurt and part because her actions surprised me a little and made me look at her a little different. Like I thought we were all having fun... LOL..
