Dialect. I'm actually aware of that. Just like Canadian French is not the same as France French or Haitian French or Creole. Languages blend with other languages and oftentimes becomes completely unique to the people/culture that use it.

I'm actually fluent in French (my Mom is French Canadian). I worked for a year next to a guy from Lyons, France.

I didn't understand a bloody word that came out of his mouth.

Or how about the poor Welsh beggar that asked me for some change when I was in London. I couldn't understand him either and he seemed pretty upset that I didn't speak "English". Later on, a fellow I met at the pub said "Oh you have to forgive the Welsh people; after we English subjugated them we stole all their vowels."
