So my brother-in-law (I'll call him Steve) moved from Oklahoma to Oregon a few months ago to live "off the grid." Basically, he's living in a solar powered trailer on a friend's property and doing odd jobs for cash to pay for food. Well, last week, Steve's best friend passed away tragically and unexpectedly - here in Oklahoma where we are. Because we didn't want Steve to be in Oregon, alone in his trailer and we knew Steve certainly didn't have the money to get back for the funeral, I told DH that we should buy him a plane ticket. $700 later and a $200 car rental, Steve has decided that he wants to stay 2 weeks longer than the roundtrip itenerary we booked for him. So I called the airline to see about changing the return flight and was told it would be a $200 charge plus any cost above the rate we originally purchased. Um, hell no. Steve is shit out of luck. So when DH called Steve and told him this (not the shit out of luck part), Steve got angry. Wanted to know why we'd book a flight that couldn't be changed easily. So DH asked him, "even if we could change it, where do you plan on staying? and who do you expect is paying for another 2 weeks of a rental car? Not us." Steve hung up on DH. WTH? Are you kidding me? So DH texted him and said, "Have the car at Enterprise at noon tommorow. If you are going back, then I will drive you to the airport. Otherwise, you're on your own."

I cannot beleive the nerve of people - family no less. Good grief. DH started to say something to me that begain with "next time." I said "next time? There will be no next time."

ARGH!!!!!!

Actually, he has always been a selfish ass, but in the back of my mind I thought it was maybe because he hadn't been shown enough kindness. You know, sometimes I'm naive as hell. No, he's just a selish ass.

And also don't forget their warrior cry;
-Its my Life
-Don't tell me what to do
AND
-DON't forget to pay all my bills.
I just LOVE Narcissists - um - I mean crunchy granola heads - they have it ALL figured out don't they.

Do a little more each day. . .and each day a little more will be expected!

We have a "hippy" employee here in her very early forties. Total birkenstock "save the environment" type that refuses to clean up the "environment" around her at work. Lets the Keurig machine go bone dry and never refills it, makes a huge mess in the office kitchen and never cleans it up. Same goes for the ladies room--unflushed turds--what am I working with SKIDS?

I find those "gimme gimme" types hypocritical and deplorable. They want everyone ELSE to wait on them hand and foot and give them free stuff.

I-m so happy haha, I agree I-m so happy

The hippies I've been around are all about "cooperation" and "working together" which of course is code for "you do it" and "I'll enjoy it."
