OT - Superbowl!
Anyone having, or going to, a party for the big game? Are you taking food? If so..what are you taking?
Every year we have a large party. It is so fun!
Anywho... I am making bacon crackers. MMMMMMM! They are so good!!!
Place 1 tsp of brown sugar on a club cracker. Then take 1/2 piece of bacon (not thick)and wrap the bacon around the cracker. Bake them at 250 degrees for about 2 hours. Amazing and addictive.

I make this as well, and it's
I make this as well, and it's always a huge hit, one thing differently, I use the canned chicken (like the kind for making chicken salad) because it's a cheaper and I've made it with leftover chicken as well, I would never know the difference.
We also love the uncured
We also love the uncured bacon! I'd never baked bacon before, but when we got the uncured I was reading the label & saw the instructions for preparing it in the oven.
I tried it & we LOVED it! I shared my discovery with everyone I knew & was stunned to find that apparently I'm the only person on Earth who had no idea there was any way to do it but in a frying pan. LOL!
I was worried it would stay
I was worried it would stay floppy (I like mine extra crispy), but it gets just as crispy as it does in a pan.
It cooks more evenly & I don't end up with grease splatter all over the stove top.
ewwww! Almost nothing worse
ewwww! Almost nothing worse than under cooked floppy bacon!!
I love mine cooked all the way and crispy!
There are a couple of things
There are a couple of things in which I prefer the non-floppy variety, and bacon is one of them.
LOL!
LOL!
I have never tasted un cured
I have never tasted un cured bacon. What is the difference?
Yes, Oscar Meyer. We get it
Yes, Oscar Meyer. We get it at Walmart.
I've never compared nutrition
I've never compared nutrition values or anything, but I taste less salt & more of the pork flavor.
Am I unAmerican if I don't
Am I unAmerican if I don't care at all about the Super Bowl? I've got my eyes on next weekend- Walking Dead!
Not liking bacon? Blasphemy!!

I wish there was a way to
I wish there was a way to post pics here because I saw the funniest, most appropriate thing on FB for a non-Super Bowler.
If you google "Every single sports interview". The cartoon cracked me up!
I am probably the only person
I am probably the only person in the whole wide world who could give a hoot about the Superbowl (or anything football for that matter). I honestly couldn't even tell you who is in the Superbowl. Thankfully DH feels the same!
My only plans are to stay off of Facebook that day, because I already know it will be nothing but Superbowl posts.
My perfect Superbowl would be a toilet bowl that cleans itself.
I can take it or leave it. I
I can take it or leave it. I do like the commercials.
However, this year it's on my birthday and I'm not supposed to know that there will be cake and ice cream for said birthday at my dad's Superbowl party, so I gotta go (I'd really rather not celebrate anymore birthdays, to be honest).
I've never cared about the
I've never cared about the Super Bowl either. Football is definitely my least favorite sport. I used to boycott parties with my ex because he was just way too into it to the point of ridiculousness. Now I'll go to someone's house or something, mostly to eat and drink and watch the commercials. DH isn't too into football. He watches it when I'm not home but isn't all crazy like most guys. He doesn't really have a team so he usually just picks one to root for at the start of the season. This year he picked the Broncos so he's more interested than usual. But I'm just looking forward to drinking some beers and eating some wings.
Yes and one of the things I'm
Yes and one of the things I'm going to try to make is something I just saw today.
You'll need already cooked meatballs, Pillsbury biscuit dough, marinara sauce or what ever sauce you want and mozarella cheese "stick" cheese.
Wrap each meatball halfway (think pigs in a blanket style but only covered with the dough on the bottom) pour a little sauce on top and cook until dough is done.
Take "strings" of the mozarella cheese and place on top of meatball to make it look like the stitching on a football by placing one "string" horizontal and 2 or 3 smaller "strings" vertically.
Place cooking sheet with meatballs back in oven for a minute to slightly mest the cheese. DONE!
