OT/Anyone tried an Epilator?
There's so many different types out there, I don't know where to begin. Can anyone recommend a specific brand? Is it as painful as the youtube videos say?

Legs, underarm, and bikini.
Legs, underarm, and bikini. I have a pretty high pain threshold. I'm more worried that they don't work as well as waxing, and I will have wasted my money.

But do they work? Are you stubly after?
I like mine but have had it
I like mine but have had it for years so there are probably better ones now (it's a Silk-epil by Braun, got at Bed Bath and Beyond).
Yes, it hurt the first time but that was about it. It takes some time to get totally smooth but I like it better than anything else (I just do it while I'm watching TV). I am not stubbly after.

I did, got it as a Christmas present. Loved it until I lost it somehow. The brand was emjoi. I liked it for my legs and underarms--everything else hurt too much. Those didn't hurt at all if you iced the area beforehand. I did some bikini stuff but be careful you don't get too close--you might get certain, err, loose skin caught in it. Not fun. Keeps the skins smooth much longer, I like it better than waxing because no mess and it can be part of your routine.
I did do DH's lower back with it. He screamed like a little girl.
I did it in a circular motion since it matters what direction the hair is growing in to get caught. It will pick up hairs even if they were shaved very close to the skin.
Okay thanks for the tips (and
Okay thanks for the tips (and chuckles) you gave me. I'm going to try it.
