SD15 has been with us full time for just over a week now and I wanted to put this in writing so when I am frustrated and thinking I am crazy I can see that at one time things were going smoothly.

SD15 has adjusted well to her new school and at the latest count she was up to 4 new friends. At home she is doing small annoying things like forgetting to turn off lights or close cabinet doors. I remind her myself instead of running to DH for every little thing. DH has been good about being home every night for family dinner and keeping up with how she is doing on her homework. He reminded her himself this morning to get her clothes out of the dryer!

I know that this is still our "honeymoon" period but I am hopeful that with the house/SD15 rules we have posted in the kitchen that we can avoid any misunderstandings about what is expected of her.

DH and I signed her cell phone up for tracking and all of her texts are saved for when we log on we can read them. So far they have been really boring silly chats with her friends from her old school. I am grateful that we haven't had any issues with that so far. I did question DH about what he is going to do when we do read something that causes concern. His deal is that she doesn't know we are reading her texts and to loose that advantage it will have to be something huge. I agree with this and luckily we haven't had this issue yet.

My BFF thinks reading her texts is an invasion of privacy but this is also the same women who hates her husband with a passion and has her own SD18 living with her that doesn't shower regularly and leaves toe nail clippings on the couch so I listened to her opinion as much as I would another 15 year olds.

BM the Bat is starting to do things for SD15 on her weekends that we had to pull teeth to get her to do before. She actually bought her new disposable contacts, new acne wash, and a host of other stuff that she never would have before. Bat also told DH in a text that she was going to give him $200 next time she drops SD15 off. I will believe that when I see it. I am just happy she is finally starting to do things for SD15 that she should have before. I think Bat is going to be a better part time mom than she ever was a full time mom.

SD15 and DD6 are also getting along really well. Every morning while SD15 is going through her beauty regiment for school DD6 sits on her bed to chat with her. It's very cute to listen to them.
