More proof that family courts are screwed up
A convicted rapist wants visitation rights with the child that resulted from raping a 14-year old girl. He says that since he was ordered to pay CS he's entitled to visitation.

Lots of prayers to his victim
Lots of prayers to his victim and her child. He doesn't deserve to claim the child as his. If I was the judge I'd tell him to take a long walk off a short bridge.
Nice how he admits that he's
Nice how he admits that he's only asking for visitation as payback for being ordered to pay child support....and if they void the child support order he doesn't want visitation.
But at the same time... The article is a little fuzzy on the details of the statutory rape... She knew him for three years prior and felt pressured.... But he didn't actually force her. She was 14, he was 18.... I dunno...seems a bit of a very area to say that be should lose his parental rights.
Initially, I also had
Initially, I also had questions on the "rape".
However, he was 20. She was 14. He was plenty old enough to know better. At 14 & 20, the age difference is considerable. It isn't like they were peers. At 20, his stage of life is more advanced.
At 38, with my DH being 45, our age difference is 7 1/2 years, but I see us both at a similar stage in life. We're both grown. We've experienced independence, marriage, emotional growth, divorce, etc.
At 14 & 20, they aren't on the same page.
He plead guilty to rape. IMO, that indicates that he knew he had more power & used it to have sex with her.
Just my feelings on it...
I thought he had just turned
I thought he had just turned 18? Not that it truly matters, but it just didn't seem as cut and dry to me as say a violent rape by a stranger.
Exactly. Even at 14 and 18,
Exactly.
Even at 14 and 18, they wouldn't be on the same page.
