If I hear another silly-ass excuse...

I swear, just when I thought I'd heard some silly-ass excuses from SS13, I heard the silliest one yet recently. So, he's on restriction from pretty much anything electronic until the next grading period ends (or until BM gets tired of hearing him whine and gives them back to him...so maybe another week) because he got a D in Spanish. DH said, "What happened that you got a D in Spanish?" Naturally the knee-jerk response was, "I don't know." So DH asked him again, telling him this time he'd better give a different answer, so SS13 said, "Because I didn't do all the work." DH said, "Why would you just not do the work?" SS13 straight-up said, "Because I thought it would be okay if I didn't do the work." I didn't say anything, but I was like, are you serious?!? You honestly think, SS13, that teachers give out work because they don't CARE if you do it, and if you just decide to opt out, that somehow, by some miracle, you'll still get decent grades? "I thought it would be okay if I didn't do the work." *facepalm* The other great one was when he got detention for fighting, and he said he hit the other kid because he was "confused." Then, when DH asked him what he was "confused" about, he couldn't give him a straight answer, so DH was like, "I think you were confused by the definition of 'confused.' What you were was 'angry' and 'wrong' since you don't beat people up for silly reasons, and you're always the one throwing the first punch." This is funny, too, because he's hands down one of the smallest kids in his grade, next year he'll be going to high school, and he can never finish what he starts. He's about to have his ass handed to him when he moves up to the big-leagues. Let's see what kind of silly shit he comes up with then.

Hahahaha I love DH's response to his confused answer I loled

And has this kid not been going to school for eight years where they give work and your grade is based upon that work? Lmao what an answer. He is clearly running out of excuses.

My sson got a D in Middle School Spanish. He told me he didn't study much so in the final test he put all answers as "your mom" but in spanish. Probably why he got a D and not an F! Not his shining moment but I had to laugh at his creativeness. His grade to live with not mine. I studied French and Latin in school

Right, at least your SS was clever...and maybe the teacher had a good sense of humor too. Wink I literally think SS13 just pulled that answer straight out of his butt. Like, he just opened his mouth and let the words fall out.

OMG! I think your SS13 and my SS13 are long-lost twins! We get that all the time: "I thought it would be okay." About everything. "I thought it would be okay"....to not do schoolwork. To not do chores. To not shower today. To not brush my teeth for three days. I don't understand. I really don't.

We also get "I thought it was optional" about homework assignments, most recently a power point project worth 40% of his quarter grade in social studies. REALLY??? DH's reply: "Well, I guess your allowance and electronics for the rest of the school year are optional." LOL!

This kid has no clue what he's in for in high school. If he makes it to high school!
