The video link above reminds me of all the BMs who dump their kids and those kids still 'call out' for their mommy. While BM is out living her life, vacationing, going places with her new family, my SKs were here crying and pining for her love, yearning for her attention while she is posting pictures on facebook that make the kids cry. Have you ever seen a 9 and 7 year old boy not want to trick or treat on Halloween? I have. The boys found out their mom got married through facebook on Halloween. The teenage girls just cried as well. They had their dad, his mom, his sisters, all willing to be a mom to those kids but they wanted their mom. The marriage of BM fell apart. She moved back to the area. It's like nothing ever happened. I can see her apartment building from my window right now as I type...yes when I say she moved back to the area she moved into the apartments behind our home. This case with the baby may be a bit extreme to compare but BM left the kids, 2 teen girls and 2 little boys on the street with their belongings and called my husband(then boyfriend) to come pick them up while she took off in a moving van and then married that man a few months later. I lived with the hurt and anger each day when I moved in this house, I was not welcome. I did everything a mom should do, that was not welcomed by them, it only angered them. They wanted their mom to do it. Yet, they could not be angered with their mom, it hurt too much, so they took it out on the other ladies in their life, myself the aunts and the grandmother.

As a childless not by choice woman - this is a horrible reminder of what I do not have nor will ever have.
I try to sail through with peace, gratitude and grace. Some days are easier than others.

SD25 Feral Forger = she is hateful, lying and manipulative. We are no contact. She has no drivers license.
SD17almost18 Powersulk = she is GENERALLY kind and respectful, except when she isnt. Last year in June she threatened calling police because she felt "threatened" (I was knocking on her door wanting to talk things out) and recently she bought a tattoo kit and that was an argument whereby husband thought it was ok to shout me down (in front of her) and right now she has no job and no permit. But after the shout-down, everyones been on best behavior.

The whole neighborhood failed this baby. People heard her crying and did nothing. It's devastating. I saw this story previously... I can't imagine what this poor little baby went through.

Either way, this woman is not getting out of prison. The inmate moms will make sure the only way she gets out is in a pine box after a very unpleasant exit experience.

Nearly as tragic are Judges
Nearly as tragic are Judges who force kids into the custody of a shit parent. While a decent parent is demonized and discounted while they beg for their kids.

Or judges who let violent criminals out to commit more violent crime. Just happened in our area, a boy was killed protecting his mother from a violent criminal who had been let out of jail the previous day, her ex boyfriend

Its not just the judges
In our state the voters voted for the current governor who instituted "cashless bail" AKA "bail reform" along with "raise the age." Carjackings and retail theft skyrocketed as a result.
The felon that killed an officer with a wife and young son had been arrested 21 times and let right back out. Everyone gets an appearance ticket which means they get right back out on the street and don't show up for their hearing which results in a bench warrant.
Yet the voters still voted for this.

Social services doesn't do
Social services doesn't do their job in a lot of areas, either. In my parish it seems they will put kids in foster care for small things, but in the next one over, where i work, it's horrible. In my last job i made CPS reports for some really heinous acts of physical abuse and neglect, but if it was the mother being accused, the kid almost always ended up back with them, if they were even taken away at all. Multiple cases around here of kids either killed my mom, boyfriend, or even older kids while unsupervised for days. There are some really unfit women who are "raising" kids and getting paid for it. Usually by the state but also through child support.
