We are on our way to see my granddaughter for the first time.   I'm sure Chef will start to recount stories about the long estranged ferals when they were babies....  Argh! 

Chef, in his mind, is a parenting expert, doncha know although he has never non-parented a child past the age of 11. OSS PASed out at 11.

I'd try to humor his illusions of being the parenting expert.  Why not?  Just say "Uh huh" and keep thinking about something else.

It's like some years at Christmas when an adult kid comes over and you know they are having a rough time.  They start talking about some positive illusions.  It's all they have to give you at Christmas, a pleasant fantasy.
