Privacy & quiet would be great
Is it weird that I want my own room? No kids knocking after 9pm when we close the door. No 430am alarm going off. My own room with a lock.

Sounds amazing. When one of these kids get out, I’m making a bedroom my Babe Cave. It’s a big closet that I can have a sitting area in and display my hand bags. I would love to have a space now that no one can even get in.
Maybe detached, with
It’s own bathroom. And kitchen. And a place to eat. Ooh, and a room to relax and watch TV (alone). Like one of those, whadda ya call em—- houses!
Heck
I put my two CATS out of our bedroom and close the door at night.

I have my own bedroom with a lock. So I don't have to try and sleep when DH "sleeps". I use sleep loosely with DH at is a horrendous symphony of snoring, moaning, blowly, belly-slapping, arm flapping, leg kicking...basically anything except sleeping.
It is possible....and wonderful

I am in the same boat!
I actually recently asked for seperate bedrooms because he sleeps whenever he wants. He will sleep at our business, sleep during the day until four in the afternoon, and sleep sometimes for 17 hours straight. All while I am up multiple times at night taking care of our babies and the skidz and then up at 6am to get the kids/skids ready for school and out the door, then awake all day with my two little ones. I try to fall asleep around 11-midnight and AS SOON as my mind starts to drifts, he decides he will shut off whatever mindless ridiculous show he is watching and try to pounce on me. If I get crabby or complain he acts as though there is something wrong with me, and then gets hurt, and then wont touch me for weeks. Ive tried trying to initiate earlier in the evening, but he looks at his phone, wont turn off the TV or finds a reason to leave the room. If I initiate before 1 he decides as soon as I fall asleep again, that he needs to go at it again. He used to travel for work, but now that he is running our business there are days he just doesn't go in and will literally sleep ALL day Long! I haven't slept in 7 years, except when he is gone working or with his family, and I have the SKIdz with BM and my littles are with their relatives. That has happened a total of two times in the last three years, and one of those times I was in labor with the youngest.
Recently he has taken to going downstairs to watch tv all night. ugh. I should buy my own tiny house like that one person suggests.
Mum of 8 sounds like a lot.
Mum of 8 sounds like a lot. We have 6. My 2 have launched his 4 are home with us. Always
Door knocking has been banned
Door knocking has been banned in our household unless the house is on fire.
HOW?
How did you manage that? The best part about the door knocking is that the SKidz don't even bother asking him. They always call "Mom?" for their needs, or wants. It is ALWAYS me getting up with all the kids, and it is always multiple kids and multiples hours of the night. It SUCKS! I hate it and don't sleep between them and DH bizarre and irregular self imposed sleep patterns. Help me figure out how to accomplish this PLEASE?
We have a lot of emergencies.
We have a lot of emergencies. .they knock leas but they still come in & out a lot at the end of the night
DH's Rule: when our bedroom
DH's Rule: when our bedroom door is closed, you only knock if it's an emergency.
I need to make this a rule!
I need to make this a rule! Last night SS14 was knocking at an inappropriate time (cough, couh, wink, wink) to see if he could weigh on our scale. Like, really?!
Inappropriate time would be
Inappropriate time would be OVER. Id roll over and say go see what the skids need
I hate it when adult skids knock our bedroom
Door or actually pound it while its very early morning for something unimportant, non urgent and they are perfectly capable of waiting for hubby to come out shortly.
its the world revolves around them complex but i have a rule if that happens and kids are woken up i will make hubby settle them both back to bed and damn sure i’d be opening the door and telling skids to stop banging it as we have 2 babies sleeping and they are disturbing them so unless it is important (like life and death) then they have manners and wait and stop banging on it like a crazy person and screaming your dads name- have manners and be decent!!
The older skids text instead
The older skids text instead of knock which also wakes me up
Wait they text in the same house?
Ss20 will text daddy from his bedroom to ask if daddy arrived home already. This current generation is starting to lack social skills and it shows in his uni studies. Any subjects that are verbal or reauire lamguage skills its barely a pass grade or C-
