A month without Skids...it was glorious!
DH and I had some travel plans to see my family on his last visitation weekend and instead of switching weekends, we asked MIL to take the kids for the weekend. That means we have had two weekends in a row without SSs. It was glorious! DH and I spent time together and even enjoyed our time doing nothing together. It gave me a glimpse into how wonderful our relationship could be if there were no Skids. <sigh>

Yes...I remember the
Yes...I remember the happiness and luxury of an unexpected break in skid weekends. Such a wonderful, light as air feeling.
Yes!!
I was lucky enough to get out of skid visitation this past week and most of the last visitation weekend.
DH had to work out of town. Interestingly enough...DH came home every evening. He actually could have had YSS for his visit during the week but choose not to. I was out of state for work so I wouldn’t have seen YSS either way. Still bugs me that DH canceled his visit. Now had I been home he would have expected me to pick up his slack...:no thank you DH....not my monkey
Sounds like a beautiful joy.
Sounds like a beautiful joy. We have the kids 90% of the time. BMs mother died a few days before Christmas so the wake, funeral and time with BMs out of town family + she took them for christmas eve & new years eve for a total of maybe 6-7 days over Christmas break. It saved my sanity as I dreaded the break from school.
Of course when her weekend came she didnt take them because she needed a break after having them 40% of christmas break. A month is a joy I will never know
