Back from Chicago...
and "Hamilton" was everything it is cracked up to be and more!
DH and I had a great long weekend. The weather was super shitty, so that part sucked, BUT we had a great anniversary dinner on the river Thursday night, spent Friday at the Museum of Science and Industry plus DH got my personal tour of the remnants of the Columbian Exposition tour (history degree pays off - lol) and saw "Hamilton" Friday night.
Saturday, we had brunch with Thing1, his roommates and his girlfriend, and she is just lovely! Saturday night, we saw some dear friends from our hometown for dinner and a show at the Chicago Magic Lounge.
Sunday was a walking tour of the Loop architecture and the Pedway (I lived in Chicago for years and never even stepped foot in the pedway) with a tour guide who has my dream job - PhD in Urban History - SWOON!! Then we hit up the Billy Goat (think SNL Belushi "cheeseborger, cheeseborger" skit), a little shopping on Michigan Avenue and then back to Union Station for the train home.
I took yesterday off - the train back home doesn't arrive until after midnight - grocery shopped, ran errands and did a shit ton of laundry - and am back at work today.
Still can't convince DH to move to Chicago....sigh. How I miss that town!!
