I'm Trying To Figure Out How these NCP BMs (and NCP biodads)

Can get away with being so far in arrears in CS??   Chef got a nasty gram the other day from CSEU re: being in arrears for $800 with threats of incarceration and confiscation of driver's license for $800.   That's ONE MONTH  behind.

And a "payment plan" that demands an extra $97 a week until he is caught up (with nothing to sign or to agree to; just do it).  Little do they know $700 was received/crossed in the mail to catch up.

I'm just wondering how these people are getting away with tens of thousands in arrears with CS without any repercussions?  This is New York State in which CS goes to 21.   P.S.  The Girhippo, who said she didn't want any CS money (read: she doesn't want CS IF Chef tries to get involved with skid's grades or try to be a parent, otherwise keep the $$$ coming) hasn't returned one red cent yet since January!!  Imagine that!!

How dare you expect her to return HER money that is OWED to her!!? But really, I don't know how people get away with being in the high thousand negatives.

My honest guess is that the CSE is hoping no one calls their bluff.

Sure, we COULD incarcerate you at $800, but we are so far behind that we'll need you to add another 0 onto that to make it worth our effort.

That's the only thing I can imagine, anyway. They want people to catch up, so they threaten, hoping some of the folks pay up out of fear. In reality, no one is going to sign off on jailing someone for $800 unpaid CS. It would cause such a sh*t storm.

Anti-Canada is fairly GUBM-centric, too, but also poor. They aren't coming after you unless you have something worth coming after...

...in theory, anyway.

JEALOUS!  I WISH they would go after Medusa.

A friend of mine texted me today that her BM has been picked up for failure to pay.  In the next county over from me.  For being $1477 behind.  Effing Medusa has been behind almost 10K at times and never gets picked up.

must be adept at staying off the radar.

She really isn't, though.  Sure, she always works for cash, but a very quick check of public records reveals the home she and Lurch purchased on a land contract from his parents....

The county in which the case resides is just not interested in pursuing arrearge cases...

DH gets in trouble if he misses 2 payments (weekly). He does it through wage garnishment and gets paid biweekly, so technically he "misses" a payment every week until the double payment from his check goes through. God forbid anything goes wrong with wage garnishment. It happened once and he got court summons for it. *shok*

Maybe it's just the county we're in...I don't even know because there are plenty of people in our state that are behind and seem to get away with it.

What I don't get in Europe is that if you want cs money actually to be paid after an order you have to take them to court and force them. There is no system that oversees it other than a costly court case. For example our BM is underpaying every month. It is breaking the divorce agreement and against the law but it is not worth us taking her to court and she KNOWS it. Would cost us thousands in lawyers and court fees. I just hate the fact that she wins that way. It's a pathetic amount she pays anyway.

ONE time the CS check was late to Biowhore - because of a holiday - it was ONE day late. When it didn't come on the day she thought it was Dh started getting ugly texts about why it didn't come. He called CS place - they said it will be late because of holiday and she acted like somehow that was his fault. CS comes right out of his check before we even see it and then to her. So I always wonder the same thing - how do some get so far behind and no consequences??

He truly stays off the radar though...LOL... he doesn't file his taxes, he doesn't submit the paperwork when the 3 year review comes up (even though it would benefit him), he already doesn't have a license so they can't take what he doesn't have.

He works but is a server/bartender so his checks are small. This is the first year (in 7 years) that I have gotten CS consistently. I have gotten $200 total in the past 9 weeks. Last year I got $211 TOTAL for ALL of 2017.

I think he was previously being garnished for some other debt and that somehow came before the CS (though I don't think that should have been the case) and now that it's paid off, CS being taken from his check is kicking in and that is why I am now getting it weekly. Even though it's not even close to what I should be receiving monthly it's still something.

According to Sussex County (DE) they told me they are so overwhelmed with CS arrears cases-they simply do not have the proper resources to handle it all.

My ex is in arrears for $6000 and has been for over 10yrs.....he's not filed his tax refunds and often works under the table jobs to get by.

He does pay weekly-but the bare minimum he can get away with.

Then brags online how he's living "the good life" in his house (that his barely legal gf's dad owns) and his super new truck (that she's making ungodly payments on) I've taken screenshots and submitted them to the courts-they just makes noises of not being able to locate him....there's no current information.

Took me 5min on Google to find him and they still refuse to do squat. I've submitted the same paperwork to my state (NJ) and they're doing everything they can to get to him.

Some people just know how to work the system.

Many years ago I did a stint at a temp agency doing payroll.  They had a ton of guys employeed at a local warehouse distribution center and every week I would get a giant stack of child support orders from the county.  I will never forget there was one guy who had like 3 or 4 different orders (so different BM's) and on the one order he was $98,000 in arrears!!!!  How does that even happen???

I always felt bad for some of the guys, because in my state (at the time) I had to take as much as I could out (40% of their gross was the max) and some of the guys would come in my office in tears, wondering why they busted their hump all week and their check was so small.  Meanwhile their BMs were probably sitting their asses at home not working, driving fancy cars and using CS as income.
