SS so wants to make amends (not!)

So much for making amends. It was DH's birthday yesterday. Not a peep from SS18. No birthday card, no gift (he has access to his account and money in it) and not even a 'happy birthday dad'. Just radio silence.

We sat down to dinner and DH said very pointedly 'I am going to have a beer as it's my birthday today' (he only drinks on weekends normally). SS mumbled 'happy birthday' and we both just ignored him.

I just detest that boy but, he will get the same from us on his birthday. Jack squat, niks, a big fat zero and a complete ignoral.

I feel the same way when my skids ignore DH on his birthday/Father's Day. We were always told what they bought/did for their mom on holidays, so it's not like they were never taught to make an effort for someone. It's too bad they were also taught that their dad is is to provide them with everything, but given nothing in return.

My DH only remembers birthdays if *I* remind him (except for his grandmother's bday). After Father's Day two years ao, with no text or phone call from one single skid (no birthday wishes either), I stopped reminding him and I no longer wished any of them a HB.
