Our BM hasn't had child support for 2 years, she has been collecting alimony since the divorce. Sept 1st she is off the payroll As long as hubby's work stops taking it out. His work has continued to take money out for other employees past the time allowed. Said employees tracked their ex's down and settled it themselves. Hubby and I won't be doing that we will go after his employer for breaking the law if that happens, I doubt it will because I personally know his HR lady and she knows I'm on the ball. Anyhow it feels so good knowing that she won't be getting anymore money soon. She may just have to get a job like the rest of us. She works part time now with summers and weekends and holidays off.She brags she don't have to work in the summer. Ha guess next year she'll be working.
UPDATE- Even though it was in the divorce decree that alimony stopped at 5 years we did need to get our attorney to take it back to court so husbands work would get the permission to stop the deduction. Ended up costing us our vacation money and we ended up sitting home this year but it was well worth it. Attorney said husband did not need to go to court, which was yesterday. Today husband got the call that it went through and the paperwork is in the mail. Husband gets paid bimonthly so she never got anything this month like she shouldn't have. Thank you to the person who told me to do this. I figured it'd have to be done but with your reassurance I was able to calmly talk to husband and have him go to the attorney and get this done before she got a single dime she didn't deserve. I love this place. I'd thank you by name but I can't see it while editting this.
