Anyone else have this problem???
My Mother-in-Law is a nice woman BUT her behavior around SS is obnoxious. He's freaking 10 not 2. It's so disgusting, I want to puke every time she's around him. You remove SS from the situation and she's a normal human being. She's heading over here in an hour to pick up SS. I hope she doesn't want to chat, I don't think I could handle her goo-goo ga-ga crap.
Positive note....monster SS is leaving for the weekend. That's the best gift ever.
Does anyone else have this problem? I'd say something to my husband but he thinks it's cute.

My MIL doesnt do this with my
My MIL doesnt do this with my SD's so much...but I have a nephew (her grandson) who is 3...not a baby...a toddler...perfectly capable of normal conversation and they (MIL, and 3 SIL's) all talk to him like he's a baby and treat him as such. It drives me nuts. Whenever someone asks me to do something for the baby, or give something to the baby I just look at them and ask them "What baby?". Im sure they think I'm a bitch but really...I dont care.
I know what you mean! My FSD
I know what you mean! My FSD is 6 and my future IL's still refer to her as "the baby". Never mind that they have a 1 year old grandson. He's referred to by his first name, but FSD is "the baby". I don't get it. She actually asked me if I would rock her to sleep the other night. I told her absolutely not, she's 6 not 6 months!!
MIL doesn't do that. BM does.
MIL doesn't do that. BM does. She talks to SS and my DD's like they are 2. It drives me nuts. She was talking to all three of them the other day and I actually stopped her and said "why are you talking to them like they are babies? They are 8 and 10 years old". It pisses her off, and she usually tells me she can talk to her son however she wants to, but this time she was talking to my girls too... so, she couldn't really argue it. She sounds like an idiot when she does it.
Ugh! Don't get me started on
Ugh! Don't get me started on that mess. I swear, all he did was use their DNA to get SD4. They try to do EVERYTHING for her that a parent should be doing and he just kicks back and lets it happen. I had half a mind to strip her of the dress she was wearing that I BOUGHT to day care (probably ruined now) and make her wear something sensible.
I had that same problem a
I had that same problem a couple of yrs ago when SS was 2. My DH used put SS on his lap to eat at the table. I said he his big enough to sit by himself to eat he is not a baby. I told him you need to let him grow up he is not a baby he is a toddler soon to be a preschooler. Finally he listened to me now SS is 4 and DH don't do that anymore.
