SS4 Surgery Scheduled
SS4's eye surgery has been scheduled for next month. For those who haven't ready my previous posts, SS4 has a crossed eye / lazy eye that we have been in the process of correcting. Like any shitty BM (there are good ones out there, but unfortunately I didn't gain a good one when I met DH), she doesn't give a shit about her son's eye & did not enforce the glasses. So I quit worring about it & waited until today to schedule surgery. We got two new pairs of glasses too. SS4 broke his glasses at school Friday, & we held them together with nail glue (lol) just to make it to today's appointment. As soon as the appointment was over, I went & got him a pair I could take home immediately & ordered one we will get in 2 weeks. BM, on the other hand, didn't fix the first pair he broke at her house until 3 weeks later. Then, they broke again & she never bothered to take them & fix them. BUT she did go to the club & party all night. I must say, she has great piorities when it comes to her children. Anyway, not BM bashing tonight. I'm so over even having to hear her name.
The point is, SS4 is getting the surgery finally & I am thrilled. It is a little scary knowing that he will be "put to sleep" & that someone will be moving the muscles around in his eyes, but he will see so much better, have depth perception, & his eyes will not cross any more. He will still have to wear the glasses, for his far sightedness & to keep the "lesser" eye focused while it heals, but he has done very well with them since he has been living with us full time.
On the SD4 homefront, I am making an appointment tomorrow for some speech therapy. She is having trouble talking as well as other kids her age. & some things she can say but she just won't try. I won't know any information on this until tomorrow, but will keep y'all updated.
I am so happy the kids are with us full time now. Well, besides the weekends when BM is supposedly going to keep them. Knowing our BM, there will be plenty of kid filled weekends at our house, & I am fine with that. If DH & I need a small window to take some time out, we have a select few people that will watch them for an hour or two while we take a breather. They have much more stability here, & it is showing in different areas of their everyday life. Behavior, attitude, habits, just everything is improving.
Hoping that all goes well with the surgery.. we will see in a month, & I will let you know how it all plays out.
One more thing.. It really SUCKS when you raise a child every day of their life & although you aren't their biological parent, you act as their parent, live with them, feed them, do EVERYTHING & more that a biological parent does, & then you can't sign a damn permission slip or medical document. Grr.. just a little random feeling that puts a tiny damper on my mood when the situation arises.

Have DH fill out and
Have DH fill out and Noterized a paper giving you "permission to have access to any and all things related to SD & SS". Give everyone like Dr's and schools copies. Then when you need to do something for them, the paperwork is done. We did this and also gave a copy to the Child Support office.
