Electronic Calendar Saga
I haven’t posted in the longest time. Things have been crazy busy. This issue has been going on for what seems like forever. Has anyone else experienced this?
BM set up an e-calendar about 4 years ago when she changed jobs. The purpose of the calendar was so that DH would know when we have SSons and what activities they have going on. As the PP is based on BM’s work schedule and BM’s work schedule changes every 6-weeks. The e-calendar sends DH and BM an e-mail at the beginning of every week with a link to that week’s schedule.
BM and DH were the only ones with access to the calendar. In theory this sounds great, in practice it failed miserably.
BM posted her schedule for a couple of months, then stopped and started e-mailing her work dates to DH directly. So DH stopped looking at the e-calendar. Then after 3 months of not posting to the e-calendar BM started posting to it again, w/out informing DH. DH would question BM about an activity or her new work schedule and she’d berate him for not checking the e-calendar.
This cycle continued until about 4 months ago. DH got so frustrated I stepped in and asked for his login & password. I knew she was just using the e-calendar as another form of control and as a tool to manipulate DH. DH handed it over and I’ve been posting to the e-calendar ever since.
…And the sky opened up and sunlight and happiness rained down upon the land…DH has the info. he needs and BM doesn’t have to do any of the work. What a miracle. :barf:
I post all SSons school vacation dates and fieldtrips for the school year as well as their extra curricular activities. I also added DH’s EOWs and BM’s work schedule. Recently, BM commented to DH how nice the calendar was, and he agreed.
Now we all know BettyRay is the one doing the data entry but BM’d never acknowledge it. The thing is I do it for DH, to help him out and it doesn’t take very long to input the data.
She can’t even post her own work schedule?!? Whatever… :?

I'll give you a pat on the back for going above and beyond for your DH. I bet he appreciates it TONS!
DH totally appreciates it.
DH totally appreciates it. And he's been thanking me nonstop
In fact, DH was able to work out D/O and P/U w/BM for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's because all the information was on the e-calendar. This has never happened before.
Usually holiday D/Os and P/Us are last minute because BM has to check times and never gets back to DH. Now BM has no excuses. DH and I can actually plan this holiday season!
