O/T Stress Test

Anybody out there in the medical field?? dh & i do not have regular doctors anymore and have the shittiest/most expensive of all incurance since we lost our jobs and had group insurance....

he has a family history of heart disease and due to recent stuff, i am going to get him an appointment to have a stress test. any idea how much they cost?

i figured i would have to negotiate ~~ had to do that a few years ago when i was airlifted, i got a $19,000 bill reduced to $4,500, i was just wondering if anybody was familiar with the fees and what i should be shooting for.. thanks steperg.

I just saw something on Good Morning America about calling around and negotiating. Some offices will negotiate. Call around.

You can also get blood pressure and cholesterol checked for free (since you are worried about heart problems).

thanks, gonna start on that.. call and get a price with NO insurance and then call the doctors in our network and see what price they have negotiated with insurance carrier..... interesting to see what prices are better...

poor, dh ~ he hates going to the doctor, but i have been worried lately, so he's in for a ride.... it's just because i love him tons! Smile

we have insurance, but it's not that $30 co-pay kind, it's that $5,000 out of pocket before it kicks in kind.... and i kinda don't want to use the insurance, b/c then they can find some way to disqualify him... not having group insurance sucks so far, i have always had that huge corporation group stuff and never had a problem, this self employed insurance not so pleasant so far.
