how is this my fault?

My husband's boss just put a moratorium on vacation starting August 1st today. We get my stepsons for 1 week every summer & I have been on DH about taking off & he has never checked. I work for a small company & my boss is funny about how many people can be off at once, well my boss has the majority of July off & when he is not gone the owner is in town. DH is now upset with me because I said to him, well that pretty much sucks & the ahole that he is replkies back it sucks that you work for a small company & can't take off in July & I said you may wish to rethink that & he told me I might want to rethink what I said about his. WTF??? In my case other people have already taken the time off & my boss who NEVER takes off is going on two awesome trips something he never has done in the 7 years I have worked for him.

Also these are his kids & I have brought this up a few times about what week to take. A$$hole.

Good one YW2, My job was supposed to be over after 7 years of devotion but I was lucky & got to be part of the new reorganization which is why his comments annoy me so much.

Not your fault, many of us step parents get to be target practice for issues such as this. Is there anyway that he could discuss the topic with his boss, you might be surprised at what options may be able to be worked out.

could he use some of his sick time, maybe???

he has the time BUT the boss won't let them take off more than a day for the rest of the year as they are rolling out new software. The only good thing is his vacation rolls over, mine doesn't.

I told him I have two weeks & 1 day vacation left ( after I take next Thurs & Fri off ) I have to take it before the end of the year & the boss hates it when you have to use it all at the end. ( My boss is a great guy I will add) so let's just pick a week, he takes a day off during that week & that way we are BM free all week long & manimal free as well. The kids & I hang out do stuff around town & they sleep over every night.

To me the vacation part is getting the kids full time for a week w/o their mom around. Plus babseball will be over then so we won't see her at all, just a win win.

I wish. Smile The good thing is this will be way cheaper & I won't have to constantly fight with him on spending $$.

Well duh!! It's your fault because you are the step mom. It is always our fault.

You know a vacation w/o DH sounds great, the only prob will be getting his ass out of bed w/o waking BS up. My inlaws don't live that far away & there is a pool at their apt that is quite nice, there is the zoo, the children's museum, all this would be free, not to mention the beach. The kids & I could ride bikes & picnic.. if we lowered the seats on my tanden bike SS12 & I could ride that which he would think is cool.

Wow.. you are nice.. I would make dh take a week vacation if he wants his kids, and I would go to work and let them all just be.. then I would take my 2 weeks and 1 day at my leisure, and I would take them skid free.. Now THAT is a vacation.

Though.. I do know that you get along great w/your skids..
