OT - The Wife Retired from Organ Playing
This is sort of off the regular topics of Step Talk but my dear wife retired as a church organist today. She is 60 and has been playing the organ in church for about 50 years (fifty years!) I could never stick with anything that long!! She started turning pages for nuns when she was 7. She's played in a lot of churches over the years and probably married and buried over 500-1000 people.
For most of our marriage the income she made playing the organ has been important - and all hers. We are finally to a point where she can slow down and relax. She won't have to go to sleep early on Saturday nights anymore!!! And, we have Wednesday nights back!! She really deserves a rest after a half century of service in many churches.
She and I have both benefited from the support of the people in the churches she's played in. She was also a teacher for many years and it was very hard for her. The people of the church always made her feel worthwhile and that they were glad to have her music.
She's also been a great BM to the skids SM. Their relationship has always been respectful and supportive. The skids stepmom hasn't been through any of the drama that people here have been through. It's really benefited the skids since most of the arguments have been between me and their father.
The biggest "secret" to success as a stepparent is to marry well. My dear wife was raised catholic and she's already got one strike on her record. She does not want a second strike!! Sorry, sometimes success is requires a bit of luck

Hey! That is a very great achievement of her - I try to play but not as well as that. I would love to be that good!
Now she can play for you guys, at home when she wants!
Actually, I was looking for a
Actually, I was looking for a partner - as I don' believe in soul mates. It took me a long time to "fall in love". However, that love has grown and deepened over the decades.
And, of course, it's taken a lot of hard work. Being a stepfamily is much harder than an intact one. But, I like that our step family is unique in that both our side and the other side have been together for the same number of years. Marrying well takes a bit of luck, a dash of respect and did I mention, a lot of hard work?
Personally, I think she's a great catch! She's got all the qualities I looked for - loyalty - kindness - a good mom and good in bed. She's not a very good cook, but her other attributes are smoking hot.
She thinks I spend too much time on ST - and she wants to have a "date" tonight to pull me away She's still sexy at 60. I had a hunch she would be when I married her. Lots of women are pretty when they are young. She's always been "lovely" - not beautiful but very attractive. She's still got that loveliness today.

she just got home ... i gotta wait for her to get closer to "the mood".
You can't rush a good sex act (at least when your older because it takes longer too .... well, you'll understand when you get older
I'll start the bbq now. Flames and smoke get almost any woman "in the mood".
