This is the first year DH will be able to spend Thanksgiving (4 days) with his daughter. Thanks to the new court order received in Sept of this year. Lawyer is now pushing it to be signed since BM's lawyer kinda just sat on it for over a month now. (BM was not really happy with the rulings that gave specific consequences for her actions and gave DH even more time)

SD while speaking with DH told him that she was excited to spend Thanksgiving with us this year. WOW! BM actually told her she was coming and that she needed to spend time with her dad. (Of course the email to DH stated BM had a trip planned out of town - and she would make sure SD's items came for the visit - No chick it is court ordered - You really have no choice - But if it makes you feel better to say she is coming only because of your planned travel... whatever)

Of course we have not told SD anything we have planned for this holiday. BUT i am so estatic that she is coming with hopefully no drama..... We get her this weekend as well. I made sure to tell my DH that, "Loose lips sink ships" and not to tell SD what we have planned - so BM will not "change" her plans and find a reason to keep SD against the court order.

We are doing another family game night right after thanksgiving dinner, putting up the christmas tree and decorations - saturday after thanksgiving, making our holiday stockings for this year, plus some other things.....

Last year we did this stuff the weekend before since that was the only time we could have.... and it started a huge issue. BUT oh well, if it happens again this time - so be it.

SD's smile during these activities was so worth it......

I am so happy for SD and hoping this is a start of how every holiday will be from now on.
